definition 1:  lumping, holding, or sticking together.
example:  She molded the clay into a coherent lump.

definition 2:  logically ordered or connected; consistent.
example:  The candidate’s positions on the various issues are quite coherent.
example:   This paragraph is not coherent, so it’s difficult to follow your argument.
