definition 1:  a distinct, novel idea that has been arrived at through consideration.
example:  The company was looking for an exciting concept that would increase sales of its cars.
example:  The Earth being round was a novel concept to many in the fifteenth century.

definition 2:  a personal or generally-held way of conceiving something; idea; notion.
example:  Your concept of a good marriage is not the same as mine.
example:  The child had heard the word “loyalty,” but she didn’t really understand the concept.
