definition 1:  the breadth or range of one’s view, thoughts, operation, or the like.
example:  The clients were impressed with the scope of our vision for their project.
example:  These questions are beyond the scope of this investigation.
example:  You’ve explored your topic very narrowly, so your paper lacks scope.

definition 2:  the chance to function freely.
example:  The school encourages students to give their imaginations full scope.
