definition 1:  pertaining explicitly to a particular thing or person; particular; definite.
example:  It was just an example; I wasn’t referring to any specific instance.
example:  The word “test” has a specific meaning in the area of statistics.
example:  I asked you to come here for a specific reason.
example:  Did you have a specific person in mind when you bought this gift?

definition 2:  exact and precise; particular.
example:  The specific dates of the workshop will be announced next week.
example:  Her instructions were quite specific, so don’t make any substitutions.
